Reducing the Risks of Epidurals
What are some of your tips for Reducing the Risks of Epidurals?
You can reduce the risks of getting an epidural for pain relief during labor by being in a good position for the procedure – rounding your back out. Try not to move around even if you are having a contraction, as that will increase your chances for the most common complication – getting a ‘spinal’ headache afterwards. Rare risks includes infection, bleeding and nerve damage. If you feel the needle off to the side – speak up and let your anesthesiologist know. That’s a big help. Following these tips can go a long way in reducing the risks of epidurals.
